Opioid Prescribing Policy
At OC Regenerative & Pain Center, our mission is to provide safe, effective, and innovative pain management with a focus on regenerative and non-opioid treatments. In line with current medical guidelines, patient safety standards, and the philosophy of our practice, we have adopted the following prescribing policy:
Opioid Management Approach
Our clinic does not initiate or continue high-dose, long-term opioid therapy for chronic non-cancer pain.
Patients currently maintained on high-dose opioid regimens who are unable or unwilling to taper are encouraged to remain with their current provider or establish care with a clinic specializing in long-term opioid management.
Safe Prescribing Commitment
We may consider low-dose or short-term opioid therapy only when medically necessary, in accordance with CDC guidelines, California Medical Board standards, and best clinical practices.
All opioid use will be closely monitored and accompanied by risk-mitigation strategies, including prescription monitoring, informed consent, and functional outcome tracking.
Alternative Care Options
Our practice specializes in regenerative therapies (PRP, stem cell-based), interventional procedures, and non-opioid medications.
Patients seeking care at our center will be offered evaluation and treatment within this model of care.
For those requiring ongoing high-dose opioid therapy, we will provide referrals to appropriate providers to ensure continuity of care and avoid abrupt treatment disruption.
Patient Communication
We believe in transparency. Patients will be informed at the outset of their evaluation that our clinic is not an opioid-focused practice.
This policy is applied consistently to all patients to ensure fairness, safety, and compliance with state and federal standards.
